        "content": "<p>Polri discussed the rapid development of information technology.\nPolri warned of the potential for malicious intent in the use of\nArtificial Intelligence or AI.<\/p>\n<p>This was explained during the public dialogue \u2018Legal Challenges in\nthe Artificial Intelligence Era\u2019 held today at the Grandkemang Hotel in\nSouth Jakarta on Tuesday (7\/4\/2026). The dialogue involved cross-sector\nparticipants, including Bareskrim Polri, the Ministry of Communication\nand Digital Affairs, and professionals using artificial intelligence\n(AI).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery aspect of technological advancement surely has its dark side.\nThe existing progress enables various parties to have malicious\nintentions, with the scale, speed, and complexity unlike in the\nconventional era,\u201d said Polri\u2019s Head of Public Relations Division,\nInspector General Jhonny Edison Isir, in his opening remarks.<\/p>\n<p>Jhonny also discussed notes from the National Cyber and Crypto Agency\n(BSSN), which indicate millions of cyber traffic categorised as\ncybercrime. These crimes include phishing, malware, and AI-based data\nmanipulation.<\/p>\n<p>He reminded the public not to be deceived by deepfake technology.\nJhonny explained the dangers of deepfakes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we are not smart, we will be deceived; there is deepfake. It\nseems as if this person is speaking. If the person, the figure, is an\ninfluential figure, but the substance being discussed is not that, we\ncan imagine what the impact would be,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jhonny reminded Polri personnel to respond proactively to threats\nfrom the misuse of AI. He also invited all parties to collaborate in\nensuring a healthy cyber space.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn this context, we in Polri are required to respond proactively,\nquickly, and accurately to every development in information and\ncommunication technology, not just Artificial Intelligence, especially\nif it becomes integrated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA healthy digital space security is something that is very important\nand requires collaboration; it cannot be ensured by one element alone\nthat this digital or cyber space is healthy,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
