        "content": "<p>Poll rigging exposers jailed<\/p>\n<p>SEMARANG: Ungaran district court sentenced two students to two<br>\nyears in prison Monday for claiming to have exposed violations of<br>\nthe 1992 election rules by government officials.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding judge Fransiskus Lopy said the students were guilty<br>\nof sowing hatred against the government by circulating leaflets<br>\nalleging officials had acted in favor of a Golkar contestant.<\/p>\n<p>The defendants, Slamet Bibit and Fuad Chafidin, insisted they<br>\nhad done nothing wrong by publicizing election rules violations.<\/p>\n<p>Among the violations they disclosed in the pamphlets was the<br>\nbanning of United Development Party and Indonesian Democratic<br>\nParty symbols from public places. In some cases, they said, party<br>\nactivists were not allowed to attend election rallies without an<br>\nadequate reason.<\/p>\n<p>\"I have always been prepared to be jailed.
