A recent AP-NORC poll reveals that 59% of Americans believe the US military actions against Iran have gone too far, particularly amid rising fuel prices due to the conflict's disruption of oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz. This sentiment is strongest among Democrats and independents, with only 34% approving of President Trump's foreign policy handling. The escalation, involving strikes by the US and Israel on Iranian targets and Iran's retaliatory attacks, has heightened concerns over global energy markets and limited support for regime change in Iran.

Washington - A majority of Americans view the US military action
against Iran as having exceeded bounds, alongside growing concerns over
rising fuel prices, according to an AP-NORC poll. The survey, conducted
from 19-23 March among 1,150 adults, indicates that 59% of Americans
consider the US military actions in Iran to have gone too far. This view
is particularly evident among Democrats (around 9 out of 10) and
independents (around 6 out of 10). Around 4 out of 10 adults regard
efforts to prevent Iran from threatening Israel as an important foreign
policy priority. Meanwhile, only 3 out of 10 view replacing the Iranian
government with one more friendly to US interests as at least “very”
important. Around 34% of American adults agree with the way President
Donald Trump is handling foreign policy, almost unchanged from 36% in
February. On 28 February, the US and Israel launched attacks on several
targets in Iran, including in the capital Tehran, causing damage and
killing civilians. Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US
military facilities in the Middle East. This escalation led to a de
facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the main shipping route for oil
and liquefied natural gas from Persian Gulf countries to global markets.
The disruption also affected oil production in the region and drove up
prices.
",
