        "content": "<p>Polive have no permit for gas station<\/p>\n<p>Multa Fidrus, The Jakarta Post, Tangerang<\/p>\n<p>An official with the Tangerang administration revealed that local<br>\npolice had failed to secure a construction permit (IMB) for<br>\nbuilding a nearly finished in-house gas station in a green area.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the municipality investment and permit agency, Defyar<br>\nEliandi, said the administration had the authority to stop the<br>\nconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>It was mandatory for the police to apply for an IMB as<br>\nrequired by Bylaw No. 7\/2001 on city planning, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have not received any application for the permit from the<br>\npolice, which will be the operator of the gas station, as well as<br>\nother documents, such as the disturbance level permit, the<br>\nenvironmental management effort (UPL) and environmental impact<br>\nanalysis (Amdal),\" Defyar said over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>He said that the gas station was being built in the<br>\nmunicipality's water catchment area.<\/p>\n<p>Defyar said that though Mayor M. Thamrin had issued a<br>\nrecommendation for the gas station's construction, it could not<br>\nbe considered a permit.<\/p>\n<p>The recommendation, he said, was made following a letter sent<br>\nby the police chief on Aug. 16, requesting an IMB for the 800-<br>\nsquare-meter gas station.<\/p>\n<p>Tangerang police chief Sr. Comr. I Ketut Untung Yoga Ana said<br>\nthey were still preparing all requirements needed for the permit<br>\napplication.<\/p>\n<p>He insisted that although the police had yet to obtain a<br>\npermit, the construction could not be disrupted because the gas<br>\nstation had to be ready for use by the end of November.<\/p>\n<p>Ketut said it was better for police to have their own gas<br>\nstation rather than pay for the service obtained at particular<br>\ngas stations appointed by National Police.<\/p>\n<p>\"If we can build a gas station for our own benefit, then why<br>\nnot? That way we can reduce operational costs.\"<\/p>",
