They have begun<br>\nmobilizing funds and followers, both openly or otherwise.<\/p>\n<p>One thing that these political parties must not forget is that<br>\nthey have to do something to improve the lot of farmers. For many<br>\nyears our farmers have been marginalized.<\/p>\n<p>It must be remembered that the peasantry makes up the majority<br>\nof our people. Unfortunately, political parties have hardly tried<br>\nto sound out what farmers really want and need. They require the<br>\nsupport of farmers purely to win elections. They seem oblivious<br>\nto the fact that farmers, just like any other social group, also<br>\nwant their aspirations to be heard and realized.<\/p>\n<p>In the run-up to the general election, political parties<br>\nusually have a large budget.
