Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Sunda Kelapa Area Sector Police arrested two\nmen suspected of dealing crystal methamphetamine at a rented house in\nCakung, East Jakarta, seizing more than 100 grams of the drug believed\nto be ready for distribution.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe arrested both suspects at a rented house in the Cakung area, East\nJakarta, on Thursday (22\/7),\u201d said the Head of the Criminal\nInvestigation Unit of the Sunda Kelapa Area Sector Police, AKP Ery\nSuroto, in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n
He said the disclosure came after the Criminal Investigation Unit of\nthe Sunda Kelapa Area Sector Police discovered suspicious crystal meth\ntransactions within their jurisdiction.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe conducted an investigation and further inquiries that led us to\nboth suspects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Officers found that a suspect with the initials MR had frequently\nconducted drug transactions in the Pademangan area, and he was arrested\nin Cakung on Thursday at around 8.30pm Western Indonesia Time.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith MR, 10 packets of crystal meth ready for distribution were\nfound stored in his trouser pocket, along with a mobile phone and cash\nfrom drug sales. Officers searched the house and found a digital scale,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
The suspect MR admitted to obtaining the drugs from a suspect\nidentified as WF, and officers immediately waited at the victim\u2019s rented\nhouse. Officers eventually arrested WF at the premises, where one large\npacket and one small packet of crystal meth were found. Both suspects\nand the evidence were taken to the Sunda Kelapa Area Sector Police\nstation.<\/p>\n
He said the total evidence found comprised 10 clips of crystal meth\nweighing 1.95 grams, one large clip weighing 100.5 grams, one clip\nweighing 4.94 grams, cash amounting to Rp1.8 million, and Rp64,000 in\ncash from drug sales proceeds from the suspect.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth suspects admitted to having distributed narcotics only three\ntimes, with the proceeds from sales used for daily needs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
