The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional\nPolice has exposed a distribution method for the narcotic etomidate\nusing a \u2018drop-off system\u2019 and subsequently arrested a suspect identified\nby the initials I.H. (29) in the Grogol Petamburan area, West\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
During the operation, police seized evidence consisting of 261 pieces\nof etomidate stored inside a red handbag.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional\nPolice successfully apprehended one perpetrator, I.H. (29), related to\nthe crime of Class II narcotics involving 261 pieces of etomidate in the\nGrogol Petamburan area, West Jakarta,\u201d stated Kompol Ardyan Yudo\nSetyantono, Sub-Director of Division 1 of the Metro Jaya Regional Police\nNarcotics Investigation Directorate, in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Ardyan revealed that based on preliminary investigations, the suspect\nadmitted to obtaining the illegal substances using the \u2018drop-off system\u2019\nmethod.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis involves picking up narcotics at a secret location\npre-determined by the dealer network without any direct face-to-face\ncontact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The case came to light following reports from the public regarding\nsuspected narcotics abuse and distribution in the West Jakarta area.<\/p>\n
Acting on this information, the team moved to the location and\nlocated the suspect on Friday (18\/9) at approximately 19:47 WIB.<\/p>\n
\u201cDuring the search at the scene, officers found a red handbag\ncontaining four bags of etomidate with a total of 261 pieces,\u201d said\nArdyan.<\/p>\n
He added that the suspect, I.H., along with all the evidence, has\nbeen taken to the Metro Jaya Regional Police Narcotics Investigation\nDirectorate office to undergo intensive interrogation and further\ninvestigation to dismantle the primary supplier network behind the\n\u2018drop-off\u2019 transactions.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the Metro Jaya Regional\nPolice, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, emphasised that drug eradication is a\nshared responsibility.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo matter how small the information from the public, it is very\nuseful for the police; it starts from our closest environment and\nsurroundings for us to care together,\u201d said Budi.<\/p>\n
