Police told to complete dossier on Oki murder case<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The city prosecutor's office has urged the city
\npolice to complete the dossier on Harnoko Dewantono, alias Oki,
\nthe suspected killer of two Indonesians and an Indian in Los
\nAngeles last year.<\/p>\n
Spokesman for the office, Petrus Sambara, told The Jakarta
\nPost yesterday that city police had yet to resubmit the triple
\nmurder dossier.<\/p>\n
The dossier was first submitted by police on Aug. 3. However,
\nit was subsequently returned by the prosecutors, who said it was
\nincomplete.<\/p>\n
\"When a dossier is returned to the police for incompleteness,
\nthe police should correct it within 14 days and return it to the
\nprosecutors' office,\" Petrus said.<\/p>\n
Petrus declined, however, to give details of the corrections
\nneeded.<\/p>\n
Oki, 30, is accused of killing his brother Eri, Indian
\nnational Suresh Mirchandani and Gina Sutan Aswar in Los Angeles
\nin 1991 and 1992.<\/p>\n
Evidences<\/p>\n
Police have collected 109 pieces of evidence, some of which
\nwere imported from the U.S., including a revolver, a hammer and a
\nmonkey wrench believed to have been used to kill the victims.<\/p>\n
Police sources said earlier that Suresh was tortured and shot
\ndead in August 1991, while Gina was battered to death on Nov. 2,
\n1992. Eri is said to have been beaten to death at an apartment on
\nPalm Boulevard, Los Angeles, several days after Gina's death.<\/p>\n
The bodies of the three victims were recovered by Los Angeles
\npolice from a storage locker in the city in August last year.<\/p>\n
Oki was arrested in Jakarta early this year on charges of
\npassport forgery. He has since been convicted on the passport
\nforgery charges and is serving a jail term of one year and four
\nmonths for the crime. (29)<\/p>",
