        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 Police have uncovered indications that one of four\nsuspected perpetrators in the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Vice\nCoordinator of the Commission for the Disappeared and Victims of\nViolence (KontraS), changed clothes whilst fleeing the scene following\nthe incident.<\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police\nRegional Office believes the action was taken to destroy evidence\nfollowing the attack, which occurred on Thursday, 12 March 2026\nevening.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing the incident, one suspect allegedly changed clothes before\ncontinuing their escape,\u201d said Kombes Iman Imanudin, Director of the\nCriminal Investigation Directorate of Metro Jaya Police Regional Office,\nto journalists on Monday, 16 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Police tracked the perpetrators\u2019 movements in South Jakarta,\nincluding at Kalibata, Pancoran, and Ragunan in Pasar Minggu.<\/p>\n<p>Kombes Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police\nRegional Office, stated that the suspect who changed clothes likely\nattempted to destroy evidence. However, he noted it remains possible the\nclothes were changed because the attacker was also splashed by the\ncorrosive liquid during the assault.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt could be to destroy evidence or they could have been splashed by\nthe liquid,\u201d Hermanto told Kompas.com on Tuesday, 14 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The acid attack case is currently under investigation, with police\ncontinuing their pursuit of the perpetrators. According to Hermanto, the\nexact reason for the clothing change can only be confirmed once the\nsuspects are apprehended and questioned.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred on Thursday, 12 March 2026 evening when Andrie\nYunus was attacked by unidentified perpetrators. According to Dimas\nBagus Arya, Coordinator of the KontraS Working Board, the attack took\nplace around 23:37 Western Indonesian Time as Andrie Yunus was riding a\nmotorbike on Jalan Salemba I-Talang in Senen, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Two perpetrators riding a motorcycle, suspected to be a 2016\u20132021\nHonda Beat, approached the victim from the opposite direction at\nJembatan Talang (Talang Bridge). The first perpetrator, the driver, wore\na white-blue combination shirt, dark trousers believed to be denim, and\na black helmet. The second perpetrator, seated behind, wore a black\nbuff-like face covering that concealed half the face, a dark blue shirt,\nand blue trousers rolled up short, also believed to be denim.<\/p>\n<p>One perpetrator then sprayed acid towards the victim, causing burns\nto the victim\u2019s right and left hands, face, chest, and eyes.<\/p>",
