Police summon Sidiq over Tommy claim<\/p>\n

After successfully dragging former president Abdurrahman Wahid
\nand Yorrys Raweyai of Pemuda Pancasila into the periphery of his
\nlegal troubles, Hutomo \"Tommy\" Mandala Putra has set his sights
\non Abdullah Sidiq Muin, filing a lawsuit against the Islamic
\nschool leader for alleged extortion of Rp 15 billion.<\/p>\n
\"Tommy filed a lawsuit (against Sidiq), and the Police have
\nsummoned Abdullah Sidiq as a suspect for alleged extortion. We
\nwill question Sidiq on Thursday,\" City Police Chief Insp. Gen.
\nSofjan Jacoeb said Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Along with Sidiq, police also summoned Nur Muhammad
\nIskandar, the leader of an Islamic school in Tangerang as a
\nwitness in the case.<\/p>\n
Sidiq denied on Saturday that he had received money from
\nTommy, but he admitted that he had signed a letter witnessing
\nthat Tommy had given Rp 15 billion to a man named Raden Doddy
\nSumadi.<\/p>\n
Doddy had apparently been paid to help arrange the
\ncontroversial meetings between Tommy and then president Wahid,
\nthe subject of which was reportedly negotiations for a
\npresidential pardon.<\/p>\n
Sidiq, Wahid's spiritual adviser, also reportedly had a
\nmeeting with Tommy and his sister, Siti Hardijanti \"Tutut\"
\nRukmana, in November last year.<\/p>\n
Observers said earlier that some cases released by Tommy's
\nlawyers, were believed to be aimed at distracting public
\nattention.<\/p>\n
Jacoeb also confirmed that Adj.Comr. Hardiman, deputy chief of
\nthe detention center who had allowed Tommy to sleep in his office
\nroom for a few nights, was transfered on Monday to another post.<\/p>\n
Wearing a blue prison outfit No. 903 and accompanied by his
\nlawyer Wimbiyono Senoaji, Tommy was questioned further by
\ninvestigators on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
The current investigation centers around the murder of Supreme
\nCourt Justice Syafiudin Kartasasmita. The final legal
\npreparations for a murder trial are expected to be completed by
\nThursday.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile Sidiq's lawyer, Yuristian, said his client had not
\nreceived a summons, but was ready to appear before police \"to
\nreveal the truth\".<\/p>",
