        "content": "<p>Police sue Yogya LBH<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA: The Yogyakarta Police have sued Yogyakarta's<br>\nchapter of Legal Aid Institute (LBH) and one of its lawyers for<br>\nallegedly defaming the police.<\/p>\n<p>Reading the suit at a court hearing on Monday, prosecutor<br>\nBasuki D.S. said that LBH Yogyakarta and head of its Operational<br>\nDivision A. Budi Hartono had violated the criminal code when it<br>\nissued a press release saying that the police had became more<br>\nbrutal.<\/p>\n<p>Basuki also said that the press release, that detailed clashes<br>\nbetween the police and supporters of the United Development Party<br>\n(PPP), contained some material that was not based on fact.<\/p>\n<p>The Yogyakarta Police, represented by 13 lawyers, demanded the<br>\ncourt require the defendant pay a compensation of Rp 100,000 and<br>\nmake a public apology, that should be published in local<br>\nnewspapers.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the defendants, represented by 16 lawyers including<br>\nDirector of Indonesian Court Monitoring (ICM) Kamal Firdaus and<br>\nnoted local lawyer S.F.
