        "content": "<p>Police stops Vietnamese ship<\/p>\n<p>TANJUNG PINANG, Riau Islands: Tanjung Pinang air and water<br>\npolice apprehended MV Vietrans Timex 05 and its cargo of 40,000<br>\nsacks of sugar weighing 2,000 tons in Sore island waters in Riau<br>\nIslands regency late Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Tanjung Pinang Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Widodo Eko<br>\nPrihastopo said on Wednesday that the Vietnamese ship was<br>\napprehended because of its questionable manifest.<\/p>\n<p>The ship, which came from Bangkok, Thailand, was meant to go<br>\nto Pontianak but it was heading to Tanjung Priok Port in Jakarta<br>\ninstead, he added.<\/p>\n<p>\"The ship's travel papers are only copies. Besides, sugar<br>\nimports are prohibited,\" Widodo said.<\/p>\n<p>The ship's captain claimed the sugar belonged to PT Rajawali<br>\nNusantara Indonesia, a licensed sugar importer, but he could not<br>\nproduce the original documents, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The ship, as well as its captain and 12 crew members, has been<br>\ndetained by Tanjung Pinang Police. -- JP<\/p>",
