Police still looking into harassment case<\/p>\n

The internal affairs division at the West Java Police said on
\nSunday they were still gathering evidence concerning sexual
\nharassment allegedly conducted by Bogor Police chief Sr. Comr.
\nTjiptono against a policewoman and a secretary last month.<\/p>\n
West Java Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Muryan Faisal said that
\ninternal affairs officers had questioned several witnesses in the
\ncase but needed more evidence to conclude whether there had in
\nfact been sexual harassment.<\/p>\n
"Right now, we are still gathering more evidence. We also
\nhaven't received any written complaints from the two women on the
\nharassment. We need documents to strengthen the case," he told
\nThe Jakarta Post.<\/p>\n
Earlier, several media outlets reported that one of the two
\nwomen had sent a letter to the West Java Police to describe what
\nhad happened.<\/p>\n
In her letter, the secretary to the Bogor Police chief had
\nreportedly said that during the fasting month in October
\nTjiptono had caressed and kissed her several times in his office,
\neven though she had tried to reject his advances.<\/p>\n
Earlier, another Bogor Police officer said that she had been
\nsexually harassed by Tjiptono.<\/p>\n
The case was made public last week after phone text messages
\ndescribing the harassment circulated among several reporters.<\/p>\n
Since the case broke, the two officers seemed to have
\ndisappeared, and were difficult to interview.<\/p>\n
Tjiptono has denied all the allegations saying that they were
\nonly rumors that were deliberately circulated to discredit him by
\nhis rivals.<\/p>\n
The National Police announced earlier that the West Java
\nPolice had questioned Tjiptono about the allegations.<\/p>\n
Muryan said that they would question Tjiptono again.<\/p>\n
"We aren't certain that sexual harassment actually occurred at
\nthat time as we haven't got any clear evidence," he said.<\/p>",
