        "content": "<p>Police start training for elections<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The Jakarta Police began a two-day training program<br>\non Wednesday for 90,000 city-employed community unit guards on<br>\nhow to handle possible disturbances at polling booths leading up<br>\nto the general elections.<\/p>\n<p>\"This is to show community unit guards how to handle<br>\ntroublemakers in the field. Instructors will be sent to each<br>\ndistrict to explain the procedures and train the guards,\" said<br>\nJakarta Police general crimes chief Sr. Comr. Mathius Salempang.<\/p>\n<p>Each police subprecinct chief will be responsible for the<br>\ntraining programs and will be assisted by instructors from the<br>\ncity police.<\/p>\n<p>\"We will continue with the training on Friday (after<br>\nThursday's national holiday) and hope they can master the<br>\nprocedure by the end of the day,\" Salempang said.<\/p>\n<p>There will be 44,792 polling booths in Jakarta and each booth<br>\nwill be guarded by two community unit guards.
