Police shut file on McDonald's boss<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Police said on Wednesday that they had closed the
\nfile on the Rp 40 billion corruption case implicating the
\nAmerican fast-food restaurant boss, Bambang Rachmadi, as they had
\nfailed to find any strong evidence to prove a violation.<\/p>\n
\"We cannot proceed with the case as we have found no violation
\nin the case,\" said Adj. Sr. Comr. Anton Wahono, chief of the city
\ncorruption crime division.<\/p>\n
Bambang was named last year by police as a key suspect in the
\ngraft, which allegedly occurred in 2000. He was accused of
\nmisusing Rp 40 billion in funds he borrowed from state-owned
\nJamsostek, which oversees the social security insurance scheme
\nfor workers.<\/p>\n
He was summoned several times but failed to appear for police
\nquestioning as he was abroad.<\/p>\n
Bambang is the president director of PT Ramako Gerbang Mas,

BRI II receives another bomb threat<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) II building received
\na bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon from an anonymous caller who
\nsaid that an explosive had been planted on the 24th floor,
\nforcing the building management to evacuate all tenants.<\/p>\n
The threat turned out to be a hoax.<\/p>\n
Imran S., an employee at BRI, said the bomb threat was the
\nsecond this year; the first occurrence was in March, when the
\nU.S.-led coalition forces attacked Iraq.<\/p>\n
Police officers came to check the building, but a police
\nsource at the scene said that the officers were only allowed to
\ncomb the restrooms, while the main rooms remained locked.<\/p>\n
The building management declined to comment on the incident.<\/p>\n
Security guards at the building have imposed a tighter

TANGERANG: Hundreds of motorcycle taxi (ojek) drivers blocked
\nJl. Rawa Bokor near the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on
\nWednesday as part of their rally to protest PT Angkasa Pura's
\ndecision to ban them from entering the airport.<\/p>\n
During the rally, they blocked the road that links the airport
\nwith Jl. Daan Mogot in West Jakarta with their motorcycles,
\ncausing heavy congestion on both sides of the road for
\nalmost three hours.<\/p>\n
\"We don't understand why ojek are banned from entering the
\nairport terminal, while many airport employees and other people
\nuse our services every day,\" Suban, one of ojek drivers, told The
\nJakarta Post.<\/p>\n
He said that he and other drivers earned Rp 30,000 (US$3.5)
\ndaily from taking people into and out of the airport terminals.<\/p>\n
\"Now, we are not allowed to enter the airport terminals. It
\nmeans that we will have no income. We do not really understand
\nwhy,\" he added.<\/p>\n
Starting on Wednesday, airport operator PT Angkasa also closed
\nthe M1 Gate to the public, an alternative access road from the
\nairport to Tangerang municipality. As a result all vehicles
\nheading to the airport from Jl. Daan Mogot must pass by Jl. Rawa
