Police shoot two burglars<\/p>\n
PASURUAN, East Java: Police shot Wednesday two of five men who
\nhad just stolen Rp 1.5 million in cash, jewelry and three cameras
\nfrom a house.<\/p>\n
The head of local police subprecinct, First Lt. S. Nyoman,
\nsaid the two ignored warning shots and tried to escape, Antara
\nreported yesterday.<\/p>\n
"They broke into a house of a woman, Salkah, in the
\nCangkringmalang village. They tried to escape and hide despite
\nwarning shots. They are now in police detention," Nyoman said.<\/p>\n
It was an motorcycle taxi driver who saw the burglars, with
\nsickles in their hands, escaping from Salkah's house. He told the
\npolice.<\/p>\n
The burglars were identified as Tatang of East Java, and
\nFadeli, a local, while the three burglars who escaped were
\nSanimin, Samiadi and Amari, all locals.<\/p>\n
