Police shoot and kill robber<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): City police detectives shot dead on Wednesday a
\nrobber who attempted to flee while leading officers to his
\naccomplice in Cimone, Tangerang.<\/p>\n
The city police's chief of general crimes, Comr. Tito
\nKarnavian, identified the deceased as 24-year-old Eko Purwanto, a
\nresident of Cimone Jaya Permai in Tangerang.<\/p>\n
He said a team of detectives on patrol spotted Eko and his
\naccomplice Dedy robbing Nurhadi, a resident of Jl. Kramat III in
\nCentral Jakarta. The victim had just stepped off a Metromini bus
\nplying the Pasar Minggu-Tanah Abang route at the Bendungan Hilir
\nbus stop in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\"We got Eko but Dedi managed to escape arrest. That's why
\npolice asked Eko to lead them to Dedi's residence,\" Tito said.<\/p>\n
The officer said that before arriving at Dedi's home, Eko
\nattempted to escape. He said Eko ignored several warning shots
