        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 The National Police have seized dump trucks and heavy\nequipment in enforcement action against illegal nickel mining in Morombo\nPantai Village, Lasolo Kepulauan District, North Konawe, South-East\nSulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe seized four dump trucks, three excavator units, and one cargo\nmanifest record book in this case,\u201d said Brigadier General Mohammad\nIrhamni, Director of Specific Crime Investigation at the National Police\nCriminal Investigation Directorate, in a statement on Monday 16 March\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on investigation results, illegal earth and nickel extraction\nactivities were found operating without proper authorisation. During\ninspection, the company failed to present valid Mining Business Permits\n(IUP) for the operational area,\u201d Irhamni said.<\/p>\n<p>The enforcement action was carried out based on Police Report Number\nLP\/A\/114\/XII\/2025\/SPKT.DITTIPIDTER\/BARESKRIM POLRI dated 4 December\n2025.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe rule of law has been reinforced in the North Morowali region.\nThe Criminal Investigation Directorate is now formally prosecuting\nillegal mining activities involving PT Masempo Dalle,\u201d Irhamni\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>The Criminal Investigation Directorate has designated AT as Director\nof PT Masempo Dalle and MSW as Deputy Director and Acting Chairman of PT\nMasempo Dalle as suspects in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Irhamni explained that the suspects face charges under Law Number 3\nof 2020 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining. Additionally, Article 161\nhas been applied regarding the management of illegal mining\nproducts.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are continuing to develop their investigation to\nuncover illegal mining practices across South-East Sulawesi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis action represents the National Police\u2019s commitment to\nprotecting the nation\u2019s natural wealth from illegal mining practices for\nenvironmental preservation and legal justice in Indonesia,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
