Police seize 1 kg marijuana<\/p>\n
DENPASAR, Bali: The Denpasar Police narcotics unit made
\nanother big catch on Monday afternoon, when its officers arrested
\nan alleged drug dealer and seized at least one kilogram of
\nmarijuana from him.<\/p>\n
The man, identified as Rudy Setiawan, alias Candra Kirana of
\nMedan, North Sumatra, was arrested as he received the marijuana,
\nwhich was sent in a package by post from Medan. The marijuana was
\nfound among salted fish and clothing.<\/p>\n
It was the second arrest of a North Sumatra resident in
\nconnection with drug trafficking in less than a month. Earlier
\nthis month, police here arrested Alphones Simbolon and
\nconfiscated 2.2 kilograms of heroin from the Asahan native. Last
\nweek, anti-drug officers arrested three foreigners for their
\nalleged involvement in a drug syndicate.<\/p>\n
Denpasar Police detectives chief Comr. Budi Wasono said the
\narrest of Rudy followed a tip-off from the National Police
\nHeadquarters in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
A group of plainclothes officers were dispatched to Ngurah Rai
\nAirport to check all packages coming from Medan. Posing as cargo
\nworkers, they delivered the package addressed to a house on Jl.
\nTangkuban Perahu. Rudy confessed the marijuana belonged to him.
