Police search for terror suspects<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: National Police will be on the lookout for five
\nIslamic terrorists who Singapore claim have probably fled to
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
\"Their names are on our wanted list,\" National Police
\nspokesman Brig. Gen. Saleh Saaf said on Friday. He added that he
\nhad no idea whether the five were still in Indonesia or not.<\/p>\n
Singapore's Home Affairs Ministry said on Thursday that about
\n12 members of Jamaah Islamiyah, which has been linked to Osama
\nbin Laden's al-Qaida terror network, fled Singapore late last
\nyear. Five of the most dangerous men are believed to be
\nIndonesia, it said.<\/p>\n
Singapore has accused Jamaah Islamiyah of plotting to blow up
\nthe U.S. Embassy and ramming a plane into its airport complex.<\/p>\n
Saleh said police had indications that Mas Selamat Kastari,
\nwhom Singapore says is the leader of the five-man group, entered
\nIndonesia through the Sumatran port of Medan some time last
\nmonth.<\/p>\n
Saleh said he did not know whether Kastari, whom he said was a
\nSingaporean citizen, was still in Indonesia. He said officers had
\nno details about the other four.<\/p>\n
Jakarta has consistently rejected accusations by the
\ninternational community that it has failed to arrest Islamic
\nmilitants operating on its soil. Neighboring Malaysia, Singapore
\nand the Philippines have detained dozens of suspected militants,
