        "content": "<p>The Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Directorate raided a drug hotspot\nin the Permata Complex in Cengkareng, West Jakarta\u2014commonly known as\nKampung Ambon\u2014on Sunday night (25 October).<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Directorate chief Bismo Teguh Prakoso\nsaid the raid was part of an intensified routine operation (KRYD) to\nprevent and combat drug abuse.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe KRYD operation followed reports and complaints from members of\nthe public about suspected ongoing illicit narcotics trafficking in the\nPermata Complex area (Kampung Ambon),\u201d Bismo said in a statement on\nMonday (26 October).<\/p>\n<p>Bismo said 130 officers were deployed for the operation. They were\ndivided into two teams to search the area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the operation, both teams searched and inspected a number of\ntargeted locations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Bismo said the operation resulted in the arrest of seven people: RT,\n28; MP, 34; YK, 24; UK, 45; VD, 30; BS, 23; and P, 23.<\/p>\n<p>The seven were then given urine tests. Six tested positive for\namphetamine, methamphetamine or cannabis.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining person, identified as P, tested negative. However,\nofficers found synthetic tobacco in P\u2019s possession.<\/p>\n<p>Police also seized a plastic packet containing 0.70 grammes of\nsynthetic tobacco, 15 bladed weapons, a catapult, a bottle of alcoholic\ndrink and a spiked baton.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people detained and the evidence have been taken in for further\nhandling and examination in accordance with applicable procedures,\u201d\nBismo said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations chief Budi Hermanto\nurged the public to report suspected drug abuse or trafficking in their\nneighbourhoods.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the spirit of \u2018Police and the Community Together\u2019, we urge people\nnot to hesitate to share information if they know of suspected drug\nabuse or trafficking. Information can be reported to the nearest police\nstation or through the 110 Police Service,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
