        "content": "<p>Police personnel from the Sangir Batumn Hari Sector, South Solok\nPolice, conducted direct inspections at locations suspected of hosting\nillegal gold mining (PETI) activities in Jorong Talantam, Nagari Lubuk\nUlang Aling Selatan, Sangir Batang Hari District, South Solok\nRegency.<\/p>\n<p>This action was taken in response to information that had gone viral\non social media regarding alleged illegal mining activities in the\narea.<\/p>\n<p>The South Solok Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Andreanaldo\nAdemi, through the Head of Criminal Investigation, Assistant\nCommissioner M. Yogie Biantoro, confirmed that personnel visited the\nspecified locations on Tuesday (15\/9) to verify the information.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is true; personnel went directly to the location to follow up on\ninformation viral on social media regarding suspected PETI activities,\u201d\nsaid Yogie Biantoro on Wednesday (16\/9).<\/p>\n<p>However, based on field inspections, officers did not find any mining\nactivities as reported in the social media posts. The location was\nobserved to be free of illegal mining activities when personnel arrived\nat the scene.<\/p>\n<p>Despite no activity being found, the police have taken preventive\nmeasures by issuing a stern warning to the local community. Residents\nare strictly prohibited from engaging in mining activities without\nofficial permits, as such actions are illegal and cause environmental\ndamage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is our form of rapid response to information circulating in the\ncommunity. We urge citizens not to engage in PETI activities and to\nreport immediately to the police if similar activities are found in the\nfuture,\u201d Yogie emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>Through this rapid response, the South Solok Police hope that the\ncommunity will be more proactive in maintaining security, order, and\nenvironmental sustainability, particularly in the Sangir Batang Hari\nDistrict area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hope is that the community will work together to protect this\narea from illegal mining activities and not hesitate to provide\ninformation to the police if they encounter activities suspected of\nviolating the law,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
