Police questioned about detainee<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Chief of Tanjung Priok Police subprecinct Comr.
\nBudi Siswanto and his three subordinates were questioned by
\nJakarta Police's internal affairs unit in connection with the
\nrelease of a suspect in a drugs case, an officer said on
\nWednesday.<\/p>\n
City police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam said North
\nJakarta Police Sr. Comr. Andi Chaeruddin would likely be
\nquestioned too.<\/p>\n
Budi, who had just been promoted to Depok Police deputy chief
\nlast month, reportedly asked Andi to sign the request for a
\ntemporary release of Jajat Santoso, alias Yahya.<\/p>\n
Yahya was arrested on April 15, for possessing shabu-shabu
\n(crystal methamphetamine). Yahya, known to be one of major drug
\nsuppliers in North Jakarta, was released on May 10.<\/p>\n
The legal process, however, continued and when the prosecutors
\nwere about to bring the case to trial, the police were unable to
\nlocate Yahya.<\/p>\n
Unconfirmed reports said Yahya's relatives provided Rp 200
