The Police are questioning PLN officials regarding an accident that\nresulted in the death of an SMAN 6 Jakarta student, after the vehicle\nshe was travelling on became entangled in dangling cables on Jalan\nLauser, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
\u201cInvestigators from the South Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Unit have\nsent a formal letter to PLN to request clarification on how cables were\nleft in that position,\u201d said Head of Public Relations, AKP Joko Adi, to\njournalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Joko stated that investigators have already taken statements from two\nwitnesses, namely the driver and a passenger of the school bus involved\nin the incident on Thursday (18\/6).<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the authorities plan to request statements from the\nfamily, though they are still determining the appropriate time to do\nso.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs for the family members, statements cannot be taken yet as they\nare likely still in a period of mourning,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday (18\/6) at approximately\n05:30 WIB, as the motorcycle carrying the victim was passing through the\nlocation.<\/p>\n
The motorcycle\u2019s handlebars are suspected to have become caught in a\ncable that was spanning across and protruding into the roadway, causing\nthe vehicle to swerve and the rider to fall.<\/p>\n
Subsequently, the victim fell and was run over by a passing school\nbus.<\/p>\n
