        "content": "<p>Police question FPI members<\/p>\n<p>Damar Harsanto <br>\nThe Jakarta Post<br>\nJakarta<\/p>\n<p>The police questioned three members of the Islamic Defenders <br>\nFront (FPI) on Friday as witnesses in the case of FPI commander <br>\nAl Habib Muhammad Rizieq, who has been charged with denunciation <br>\nin relation to an anti-U.S. rally.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We were questioned as witnesses for Habib Rizieq (who has <br>\nbeen charged over his) protest to the police in connection with <br>\nthe Oct. 9 demonstration,&quot; said FPI secretary-general Achmad <br>\nSabri Lubis, one of the three FPI members questioned.<\/p>\n<p>He said that Rizieq was deemed to have insulted the police, as <br>\nhe had called them biadab (uncivilized).<\/p>\n<p>Along with Achmad, Muhammad Tubagus Sidiq and Hassanudin were <br>\nalso questioned. They were accompanied by a team of lawyers, <br>\nincluding Andi Wahyudin Jalil, Sugito, Ayub Shahab and Priyanto <br>\nSuparno.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We were questioned about the incident related to the Oct. 9 <br>\nrally, not to the one on Oct. 15 in front of the House of <br>\nRepresentatives building,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam earlier <br>\nsaid that Rizieq had been charged with insulting police officers <br>\nand instigating mass hatred in relation to the Oct. 15 incident.<\/p>\n<p>The charges, according to the Criminal Code, carry a maximum <br>\npenalty of seven years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>Anton could not be reached for further comment.<\/p>",
