S.Y.<br>\nWenas said here on Thursday the police were investigating reports<br>\nthat an armed rebel group was conducting military training in<br>\nFakfak regency.<\/p>\n<p>\"We fear such training will lead to criminal actions and cause<br>\nanxiety among local residents. I have instructed the Fakfak<br>\nPolice to ban such training,\" Wenas said.<\/p>\n<p>During routine operations, sharp weapons were confiscated from<br>\nthe training site.<\/p>\n<p>Wenas warned that the police would take sterner measures if<br>\nthe group continued its training and recruited volunteers to the<br>\nseparatist movement. He said the training had caused fear in the<br>\nneighboring districts, crippling the activities of residents.<\/p>\n<p>Fakfak Police chief Lt. Col. Totok Kasmiarto said the rebel<br>\ngroup had recently wounded a policeman, identified as Sergeant<br>\nRoy Boki. During the incident police fired warning shots to<br>\ndisperse the attackers.
