        "content": "<p>East Jakarta Metropolitan Police have opened a complaint desk for\nvictims allegedly scammed by wedding organiser Marwah Catering Service,\nwhich is suspected of defrauding couples in Bekasi, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Police Commissioner Andaru Rahutomo of Jakarta Metropolitan Police\u2019s\nPublic Relations Sub-Unit stated the move is due to the expected rise in\nvictims. The desk will also facilitate the calculation of total losses,\nurging affected parties to report immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVictims are welcome to report and will be fully assisted,\u201d he told\njournalists on Tuesday (26 May).<\/p>\n<p>He explained that several prospective couples have come forward after\ndiscovering the WO\u2019s office had suddenly closed and the management was\nno longer at their residence.<\/p>\n<p>Andaru said investigators are pursuing the WO owner, the suspect in\nthe case, to complete the criminal elements of the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt present, the team is working to locate the perpetrator while\ngathering evidence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He also noted that six witnesses have been interviewed, and the venue\nprovider will soon be questioned to determine any communication with the\nWO regarding event arrangements.<\/p>\n<p>The case gained attention after a couple, Aldi (32) and Feny (32),\nwent viral on social media when their wedding failed to take place at\nthe Islamic Center in Bekasi on Saturday (23 May).<\/p>\n<p>The couple claimed they paid Rp85.5 million for the wedding package,\nbut no vendors arrived on the day. The promised vendors\u2014including\ndecorators, caterers, entertainers, photographers, and\nvideographers\u2014never arrived, forcing a simple nikah ceremony without the\nplanned reception.<\/p>\n<p>Victims reported to East Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Sunday (24\nMay) evening, stating they have digital communications, payment\nreceipts, and written statements from the WO as evidence.<\/p>",
