        "content": "<p>Police officer neglects summons<\/p>\n<p>YOGYAKARTA (JP): Lawyers of murdered journalist Fuad Muhammad<br>\nSyafrudin are irate at the failure of police Sergeant Major Edy<br>\nWuryanto to appear at the Military Police Headquarters on July 15<br>\nfor questioning over his alleged role in the killing.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyer Budi Hartono from the Yogyakarta Legal Aid Institute<br>\ndemanded yesterday that the local police chief turn Edy over the<br>\nmilitary police.<\/p>\n<p>\"Edy has shown disrespect to the military police through his<br>\nconspicuous absence,\" Budi told reporters.<\/p>\n<p>Edy has been named as a suspect in the journalist's 1996<br>\nmurder. His death is believed to have been related to his<br>\ninvestigative reports on corruption in Bantul regency, which were<br>\npublished in Bernas newspaper.<\/p>\n<p>The officer is suspected of covering up the case.
