Jakarta \u2014 Police have named HM (24), a resident of Sidoarjo, East\nJava, as a suspect after he engaged in reckless driving in a black\nToyota Cayla on Gunung Sahari Street, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (25\nFebruary 2026). The suspect was confirmed to have been driving the\nvehicle with his girlfriend, a resident of Karawang, West Java.<\/p>\n
AKBP Roby Heri Saputra, Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit at\nCentral Jakarta Metro Police, stated that the suspect was alone in the\nvehicle with his girlfriend. He confirmed there were no mother and child\ninside the car that was driving against traffic on Gunung Sahari Street.\nThis clarification was made following reports from eyewitnesses who\nclaimed to have seen a mother and child exiting the vehicle.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo at the time of the incident, there were no mother and child in\nthe vehicle,\u201d he said on Friday (27 February 2026).<\/p>\n
Roby acknowledged that a mother and child were present at the scene\nof the incident. However, they were not inside the vehicle but rather\nwere victims of the reckless driving. \u201cIndeed, at the time of the\nincident there was a mother and child, but they were not in the vehicle;\nrather, they were victims of a motorcyclist who also interacted with\nthat vehicle,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n
