        "content": "<p>Banten Regional Police (Polda Banten) have named four people as\nsuspects in the assault of a non-governmental organisation (LSM)\nactivist in Lebak Regency named Fuk Tjhong, alias Uun. All four are\nbeing held at Polda Banten headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of today, we have named four people as suspects,\u201d said the Head\nof Public Relations at Polda Banten, Kombes Maruli Ahiles Hutapea, to\nreporters on Friday (24\/7\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>The four suspects are men with the initials D, A, R and E. D\u2019s role\nwas to instruct members of a mass organisation to take the victim, while\nthe other three physically assaulted him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cD instructed members of the mass organisation to take the victim,\u201d\nsaid Maruli.<\/p>\n<p>To date, investigators have questioned several people who witnessed\nthe incident. The victim has also given testimony to Polda Banten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs of today, investigators have questioned the victim, the victim\u2019s\nwife, and seven other people who are currently witnesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Polda Banten is still investigating the case and has not ruled out\nthe involvement of other perpetrators. Whoever was at the crime scene, watched, or even carried out\nthe assault \u2014 we will come for them. There is no room for thuggery in\nthe jurisdiction of Polda Banten,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Polda Banten has also secured several pieces of evidence related to\nthe case. A number of videos and mobile phones used for communication\nhave been examined.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, we need to convey that we have obtained evidence. The evidence\nincludes the initial medical examination, then documentation of the\nincident, including viral videos. There are also mobile phones, which we\nwill examine further,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Assault on Uun<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, Uun was allegedly abducted and assaulted. The\nincident was recorded on video and circulated widely on social media. In\nthe footage, Uun \u2014 bare-chested \u2014 is seen curled up, holding his shaved\nhead, inside a car.<\/p>\n<p>In the recording, Uun can be heard being interrogated by a man. The\nman claims that Uun had demeaned and insulted the council speaker.<\/p>\n<p>Uun says he has learned his lesson and admits he will apologise to\nthe council speaker. If he does it again, he says he is willing to be\nkilled.<\/p>\n<p>The incident is believed to have occurred on Saturday (18 July) at\naround 19:00 Western Indonesia Time in Babakan Pulo hamlet, Bojong Leles\nvillage, Cibadak district, Lebak Regency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim was allegedly approached by a group of people, subjected\nto violence, and then forcibly taken by vehicle to the residence of the\nSpeaker of the Lebak Regency Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) to\nbe made to deliver an apology,\u201d said Maruli on Wednesday (22\/7).<\/p>\n<p>Lebak DPRD Speaker Denies Involvement<\/p>\n<p>Contacted separately, the Speaker of the Lebak Regency DPRD, Juwita\nWulandari, denied ordering anyone to assault Uun. She rejected any\nconnection to the incident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegarding the issue that has been circulating in the media recently,\nalleging that I ordered an individual or group of people to carry out\nviolence or abduction against Mr Uun, this is my right of reply. I wish\nto clarify that the news is untrue,\u201d said Juwita on Wednesday\n(22\/7).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have never ordered anyone to carry out such violence, and I have\nnever communicated with them,\u201d she added.<\/p>",
