The suspects shot officer Brig. Sumari to death and<br>\ninjured Adj. Second Insp. Kuswanto in an armed robbery,\" chief of<br>\ndetectives Sr. Comr. Mathius Salempang said.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the police arrested 17 alleged members of the Ishak<br>\ngang, which is thought to have been behind at least 45 robberies<br>\nin cities throughout Java and Sumatra.<\/p>\n<p>The syndicate mainly targets drugstores, stealing prescription<br>\nmedicine that it sells on the black market.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta Police chief Insp.
