Jakarta (ANTARA) - Metro Jaya Regional Police are investigating\nreports against two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi\nArya, over an alleged case of incitement and provocation on social\nmedia.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspects are under preliminary investigation,\u201d said the Head of\nPublic Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi\nHermanto, in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Budi also mentioned that the reports relate to video content uploaded\non the YouTube social media platform via the Cokro TV channel.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Maluku Advocacy Profession Alliance (APAM) reported\nthe two social media activists, Ade Armando and Permadi Arya, to Metro\nJaya Regional Police in South Jakarta on Monday (20\/4) for allegedly\ncommitting incitement and provocation.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday, we visited Metro Jaya Regional Police to file a police report\nregarding the alleged criminal acts of incitement and provocation\npurportedly committed by Ade Armando and Permadi Arya through social\nmedia,\u201d said the APAM representative and complainant, Paman Nurlette,\nwhen met at the Metro Jaya Regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit\non Monday (20\/4).<\/p>\n
Paman explained that according to the provisions of Article 1\nparagraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia,\nIndonesia is a state based on law, which implies that all existing\nproblems should be processed through the applicable legal channels.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, as law-abiding citizens with ethical awareness, we come\nto report Ade Armando and Permadi Arya in the hope that they will be\nprocessed through the applicable legal channels to provide justice that\nis certain, certainty that is just, and beneficial for all the people of\nIndonesia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Paman stated that the report was filed because excerpts of a speech\nby Mr Jusuf Kalla during a lecture at the UGM Campus Mosque pulpit had\nbeen edited and then distributed or transmitted by Ade Armando via the\nCokro TV YouTube channel and Permadi Arya\u2019s Facebook account, causing\nreal uproar and disturbance in public spaces and society.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis has ignited negative views, hatred, and enmity from certain\nreligious communities to attack the honour and dignity of Mr Jusuf\nKalla, and they even attacked Islam, the Al-Qur\u2019an, and Prophet Muhammad\nSAW,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
