        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Polri is currently investigating the suspected\ncase of illegal Hajj departures using the modus operandi of labour\nvisas.<\/p>\n<p>Director of Specific Crimes (Dirtipidter) of Bareskrim Polri,\nBrigadier General Pol. Moh. Irhamni, at the Bareskrim Polri Building in\nJakarta on Thursday, stated that the case came to light after the\nfoiling of the departure of eight prospective illegal Hajj pilgrims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn cooperation with our immigration counterparts at Soekarno-Hatta,\nwe conducted an examination on 18 April of eight individuals suspected\nof engaging in illegal Hajj activities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed that based on initial examinations, the parties allegedly\ninvolved have facilitated illegal Hajj departures 127 times since\n2024.<\/p>\n<p>The modus operandi used is offering Hajj without long queues by\nutilising labour visas.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that they target Indonesian citizens, then recruit them\nto undertake or be sent on illegal Hajj under the guise of and using\nlabour visas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are ostensibly sent to work in Saudi Arabia, but in their\nconversations and on their mobile phones, we found that their intention\nis to perform Hajj,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>He assured that they will pursue the parties allegedly involved in\nthis case, including the companies that send the prospective\npilgrims.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe perpetrators carrying out this will also be examined, and we\nwill pursue those perpetrators,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the one-star police general also reminded the public not\nto be tempted by offers of instant and easy Hajj departures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not be lured if invited or offered to register with them.\nUsually, the modus operandi is with labour visas.
