        "content": "<p>The Marine and Air Police Directorate (Ditpolairud) of Polda Metro\nJaya conducted a dialogue with coastal fishermen in Kalibaru, Cilincing,\nNorth Jakarta (Jakut), to address various issues faced by the fishing\ncommunity, including environmentally damaging fishing gear and\nindustrial waste.<\/p>\n<p>Police Commissioner Mustofa stated that the dialogue served as a\ndirect communication channel between police and fishermen to understand\nprevailing issues in the coastal area. \u201cThrough this activity, we aim to\nhear the input and complaints of fishermen directly. Ditpolairud Polda\nMetro Jaya is present to provide services, protection, and find\nsolutions within our authority,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fishermen raised concerns about the use of garok fishing gear, which\nthey claim damages coral reefs and marine ecosystems, declining fish\ncatches, reduced fishing grounds, the need for docking facilities for\nbagang apung, and industrial waste affecting coastal waters. Mustofa\nemphasised the need for continuous awareness campaigns on fishing gear\nregulations to prevent conflicts among fishermen and preserve marine\necosystems. \u201cIf incidents or suspected violations occur, report them\nimmediately. The dialogue, held on Monday (25 May) at Taman\nAnak Pesisir, Gang Manunggal 7, Kalibaru, was attended by Acting Head of\nInvestigation Subunit, Subdit Gakkum, Ditpolairud Polda Metro Jaya\nAssistant Commissioner of Police M Aldi, Head of Cilincing Patrol Unit\nInspector Syamsul Bahri, Jeni, Chairman of the Traditional Fishermen\nUnity of Indonesia (KNTI) Cilincing branch, officials from Angin Mamiri\nBahari Cooperative, and local fishermen.<\/p>",
