        "content": "<p>Tapanuli Tengah - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo\nreaffirmed his institution\u2019s commitment to overseeing the recovery\nprocess in disaster-affected areas, from Aceh to West Sumatra. General\nSigit ensured that all response measures, from logistics distribution to\ninfrastructure repairs, must run optimally for the safety of\nresidents.<\/p>\n<p>The remarks were made during the National Police Chief\u2019s visit to\ntemporary shelters at the Pinangsori Hajj Dormitory in Central Tapanuli\nRegency on Sunday (2\/15\/2026). The National Police Chief was accompanied\nby Commission IV DPR Chairwoman Siti Hediati Hariyadi, also known as\nTitiek Soeharto.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have ordered all ranks to remain on standby to anticipate\npotential subsequent disasters. The police will continue to be present\nto ensure the safety of residents and that post-disaster recovery runs\noptimally,\u201d General Sigit affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>As a tangible form of support for communities during the recovery\nperiod, the National Police Chief and the Commission IV DPR Chairwoman\nsymbolically handed over 16 trucks of humanitarian aid. The assistance\nis intended for evacuees currently residing in temporary shelters to\nensure their basic needs continue to be met.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuring the event, 16 trucks of humanitarian social assistance were\ndistributed to support post-disaster community recovery,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 16 social service trucks were deployed to distribute aid\nin Central Tapanuli. The trucks contained basic necessities, clothing,\nschool uniforms, children\u2019s toys, stationery, cement, mosque carpets,\nsarongs, prayer garments, Qurans, clean water tanker trucks, and mobile\nwater treatment units.<\/p>\n<p>This humanitarian action is part of the National Police Chief\u2019s\nbroader agenda in the Sumatra region. Previously, at the North Sumatra\nRegional Police Headquarters, General Sigit also dispatched 22\ncontainers of aid targeting approximately 40,000 beneficiaries in Aceh,\nNorth Sumatra, and West Sumatra.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond logistics, the recovery focus also extends to vital\ninfrastructure. Virtually, the National Police Chief monitored the\nconstruction of two Bailey Bridges in Agam Regency, West Sumatra \u2014 the\nSubarang Aia Bridge (90% progress) and the Sawah Laweh Bridge (60%\nprogress).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is part of our effort to continue caring for our communities\nthat are still affected. This is also a manifestation of the state\u2019s\npresence,\u201d the National Police Chief explained.<\/p>\n<p>To ensure the smooth running of this humanitarian operation, several\nsenior officials from National Police Headquarters were present,\nincluding Head of the Police Security Intelligence Agency Commissioner\nGeneral Yuda Gustawan, National Police Mobile Brigade Corps Commander\nCommissioner General Imam Widodo, National Police Chief\u2019s Operations\nAssistant Commissioner General Mohammad Fadil Imran, and Head of the\nPolice Medical and Health Center Inspector General Asep Hendradiana.<\/p>\n<p>Also present was North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution,\nwho gave his full support for the collaborative efforts between the\npolice and regional government in handling the disaster impact in his\nprovince.<\/p>\n<p>Commission IV DPR Chairwoman Titiek Soeharto also expressed her\nappreciation for the police\u2019s swift response. She hopes this synergy can\naccelerate the normalization of the social and economic lives of\ncommunities disrupted by the disasters.<\/p>",
