        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 Polda Metro Jaya has deployed its Animal\/K9 Unit\nto help investigate a suspected case of abuse against a Husky dog in the\nKebalen area of Babelan Subdistrict, Bekasi Regency, West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Public Relations at Polda Metro Jaya, Chief Commissioner Budi\nHermanto, said the case was initially handled by the Criminal\nInvestigation Unit of Babelan Police, whilst the K9 team was deployed\nspecifically to assist with tracking around the scene of the\nincident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis suspected abuse case began when the dog was found by its owner\non Sunday evening (12 July). When discovered, the animal was in a\nseverely injured condition and covered in blood,\u201d he said in a statement\nin Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Budi explained that the animal suffered head wounds believed to have\nbeen caused by a sharp object, requiring it to be rushed to a\nveterinarian for medical treatment.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the incident, officers from Babelan Police together\nwith the Animal Unit of Polda Metro Jaya immediately conducted a crime\nscene examination and tracking operation on Tuesday (14 July).<\/p>\n<p>During the crime scene processing, police deployed a K9 dog named\nZeus.<\/p>\n<p>The tracker dog combed through residents\u2019 plantation areas, following\nthe scent from traces of blood left at the location.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the initial tracking results, K9 Zeus led officers to an empty\nbuilding undergoing renovation, located about 50 metres from the point\nwhere the injured dog was first found,\u201d said Budi.<\/p>\n<p>Police are still conducting further investigations to uncover the\nperpetrator behind the suspected animal abuse.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, a video circulated on the social media platform\nInstagram, uploaded by the account <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"amysukmana\">@amysukmana<\/span>, showing an injured dog with\nblood around its body.<\/p>",
