Deputy Police Chief Komjen Dedi Prasetyo stated that surveillance of\nthe 2026 Lebaran homecoming exodus is strengthened through the\ndeployment of various technologies, ranging from drones to body cameras\n(bodycam) mounted on field personnel.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese body cameras are important for observing situations and also\nfor monitoring the actions taken by officers in the field,\u201d he said\nafter conducting an aerial observation of homecoming traffic and\ninspecting the Command Centre at Km 29 Cikarang, West Java, on Saturday\n(14 March 2026).<\/p>\n
Komjen Dedi confirmed the deployment of drones and body cameras by\nthe Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the Indonesian National Police in the\nfield. According to him, the use of technology makes this year\u2019s\nhomecoming traffic surveillance readiness significantly better than\npreviously.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn my assessment, we are far better prepared. In addition to the\nMobile Command Centre technology equipped with drones, for electronic\ntraffic enforcement we are also using ETLE drones,\u201d Komjen Dedi told\njournalists.<\/p>\n
He explained that two types of drones are deployed to support\nhomecoming security. First, drones integrated with the mobile command\ncentre to monitor traffic conditions on the ground. These drones are\nused to oversee locations that cannot be reached by surveillance cameras\nor CCTV. Visual data obtained is subsequently analysed by personnel to\nassist decision-making related to traffic management.<\/p>\n
\u201cAreas not monitored by CCTV will be overseen using mobile drones for\ndata analysis. This analysis is crucial for making decisions,\u201d Komjen\nDedi clarified.<\/p>\n
The second type comprises drones integrated with the electronic\ntraffic law enforcement (ETLE) system. These drones function to enforce\nviolations and conduct electronic traffic monitoring during the\nhomecoming period.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, Komjen Dedi also reported that his team had\npreviously conducted aerial observation of homecoming traffic from\nJakarta to Km 29. The observation showed that traffic departing Jakarta\nremained smooth.<\/p>\n
\u201cGenerally speaking, from my aerial observation, traffic leaving\nJakarta is flowing very smoothly and although there has been an\nincrease, it remains in the very smooth category,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
