        "content": "<p>Police completing file on Nurdin<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The National Police appear to be accelerating their<br>\ninvestigation of a sugar smuggling case allegedly involving the<br>\nchairman of the Indonesian Cooperatives Association, Nurdin<br>\nHalid.<\/p>\n<p>Economic Crimes Unit chief Brig. Gen. Andi Chaeruddin said on<br>\nWednesday that the police would soon question more witnesses,<br>\nincluding officers from the Association of Indonesian Sugar<br>\nPlantation Growers, registered importers, and export company PT<br>\nPhoenix, as well as expert witnesses from the Ministry of Trade.<\/p>\n<p>\"We expect to complete his case file before his detention<br>\nperiod expires on November 26,\" Andi said.<\/p>\n<p>Nurdin is accused of involvement in the illegal importation of<br>\n73,000 tons of sugar from Thailand earlier this year. -- Antara<\/p>",
