The Chief of Manggarai Barat Police, AKBP Christian Kadang, has firmly denied any involvement of Ipda Adhar, head of the Specific Crimes Unit, in a case where seven police officers are suspected of hoarding subsidised diesel fuel in East Manggarai, NTT. Christian emphasised that cross-checks confirm Adhar's lack of connection to the arrested individuals and pledged stricter enforcement against any future violations within the force. The incident highlights oversight lapses in fuel distribution, prompting apologies and commitments to enhanced monitoring to prevent recurrence, as the regional police continue investigations into the broader scheme involving 30 tons of fuel.

Seven police officers are suspected of involvement in a case of
hoarding subsidised diesel fuel in East Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara
(NTT). One of them is Ipda Adhar, Head of the Specific Crimes Unit
(Kanit Tipidter) at the Manggarai Barat Police Station’s Criminal
Investigation Unit. However, the Manggarai Barat Police Chief, AKBP
Christian Kadang, has denied Adhar’s involvement.

Christian asserted that Adhar has no connection, either personal or
professional, to the fuel hoarding case.

“After cross-checking the facts on the ground, Ipda A (Adhar) has
never been involved or associated with the individuals secured by the
NTT Regional Police’s Professional and Security Division regarding the
fuel case,” Christian stated firmly in a written statement on Monday
(27/4/2026).

He emphasised that he would not turn a blind eye if violations are
discovered in the future. Institutional integrity, Christian said,
remains the top priority.

“Regarding this illegal fuel issue, I reiterate that we will take
firm action if, in the future, any members are proven to have violated
regulations or engaged in such activities. There is no place for
lawbreakers in this institution,” Christian said.

On the other hand, Christian also expressed apologies for the
oversight gaps in energy distribution supervision in his jurisdiction
that were exploited by individuals outside his unit.

“We apologise for the illegal fuel distribution that slipped through
from East Manggarai to Labuan Bajo. We assure that monitoring measures
will be significantly enhanced to prevent similar incidents in the
future,” Christian stressed.

Previously reported, the subsidised diesel hoarding case in East
Manggarai has implicated seven police officers. Not only that, the fuel
flow is suspected to end up at a company, totalling 30 tons.

Two members of the Manggarai Timur Police Station’s Professional and
Security Division, namely Aipda Djefri Loudoe (DGL) alias Jelo and
Bripda HFI, were the first to be uncovered in this case. Both are
suspected of direct involvement in hoarding subsidised diesel.

Information gathered by detikBali indicates that the case also
involves Iptu Herman Pati Bean, Commander of Company 4 Battalion B
Pelopor Satbrimob Polda NTT, Ipda Adhar of the Manggarai Barat Police
Station’s Specific Crimes Unit, and Brimob member Hendra Aman. In total,
seven police officers are now suspected to be embroiled.

The Head of Public Relations for NTT Regional Police, Kombes Henry
Novika Chandra, stated that his side is still delving into the
allegations of involvement of the seven police officers. The examination
is currently being conducted by the NTT Regional Police’s Professional
and Security Division.

“I’m gathering information first. Because the examination is still
ongoing,” Henry said.
",
