        "content": "<p>JAKARTA - The Narcotics Criminal Directorate of the National Police\nHeadquarters has uncovered the production and distribution of illegal\ncosmetics without distribution permits from the Food and Drug\nSupervisory Agency (BPOM) in the Dramaga area, Bogor Regency, West\nJava.<\/p>\n<p>In the raid, police secured three individuals along with several\npieces of evidence allegedly used to produce dangerous cosmetics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe uncovering of the production and distribution of pharmaceutical\npreparations in the form of cosmetics suspected without BPOM\ndistribution permits at Perumahan Casa Samala Pentas Blok K2, Ciherang,\nDramaga Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java, is in accordance with Law\nNo.\u00a017 of 2023 on Health,\u201d said the Director of Narcotics Crimes at the\nNational Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, on\nMonday (13\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In the operation, police arrested three people: Rian Herdiansyah\n(33), who acted as the business owner, Muhamad Reyhan (22) as an\nemployee, and Fajar Andriyani (33) as the delivery courier.<\/p>\n<p>From the search results, officers found various pieces of evidence,\nranging from hundreds of ready-to-ship cosmetic packages to raw\nmaterials and simple production equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Among them were day and night creams, toner, facial soap, as well as\nmixture ingredients like alcohol and food colouring.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll activities (production) were carried out on the second floor of\nthe house,\u201d said Eko.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary examination results from the forensic laboratory indicate\nthat several product samples contain dangerous chemical substances.<\/p>\n<p>The day cream and night cream produced by the perpetrators tested\npositive for mercury, a hazardous substance prohibited in cosmetic\nproducts because it can endanger health.<\/p>\n<p>The products sold included day cream, night cream, soap, and toner,\nmarketed online through marketplaces.<\/p>\n<p>In a day, the perpetrators could produce and sell around 90 to 100\ncosmetic packages at a price of Rp 35,000 per package.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGross income for one month is around Rp 60 million,\u201d said Eko.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, investigators are still conducting further examinations of\nwitnesses and suspects, as well as completing the case file.<\/p>\n<p>Police will also conduct further laboratory tests on the evidence for\nlegal proof purposes.<\/p>",
