        "content": "<p>Brigadier General Mohammad Irhamni, director of specific crimes, said\ninvestigators arrested a suspect identified as R on Tuesday, August\n25.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestigators arrested R upon his arrival from Japan at\nSoekarno-Hatta International Airport,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators found R had identified a house in Penjaringan, North\nJakarta, as a suspected site for illegal gold transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Police searched the house on Tuesday, believing it was being used as\na base by a Chinese national identified as GCZ.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGCZ is the Chinese national who harbored and smuggled gold to Hong\nKong,\u201d Irhamni said.<\/p>\n<p>The house was also suspected of being used to refine and process\nillegal gold before it was smuggled to Hong Kong by attaching gold\npatches to people\u2019s bodies.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators seized equipment suspected of being used to refine and\nprocess gold, as well as cash, transaction documents and agreements to\nhelp trace the network\u2019s finances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBased on these documents, we will coordinate with the Financial\nTransaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to trace their financial\ntransactions and assets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Police will coordinate with PPATK to trace transactions and locate\nassets suspected of being linked to the illegal activities, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Irhamni said GCZ was believed to have fled abroad.
