TANGERANG (JP): Police managed to arrest on Tuesday another
\nsuspect of a crime involving hypnotism in Curug subdistrict,
\neastern Tangerang.<\/p>\n
Tangerang Police detective chief Insp. Chandra Sukma Kumara
\nsaid police arrested Ely Epriyani, 34, after an officer
\npurporting to be her accomplice Antoni, alias Anton, contacted
\nher using a cellular phone she had stolen from Rini, 32.<\/p>\n
Police arrested Anton, 32, on Monday following a report from
\nthe victim, who saw him near Bank BNI in Cimone.<\/p>\n
As reported earlier, Anton met with the victim on Aug. 24.
\nAnton asked Rini for directions to Jl. Merdeka, while passing her
\na piece of paper with Arabic writing.<\/p>\n
Anton then offered the victim a small packet, saying he
\ninherited it from his parents and it could make her stay young
\nand accumulate wealth.<\/p>\n
Ely, who began to lose consciousness, was convinced by Anton
\nand immediately gave him two ATM cards, two gold rings, a Timex
\nwrist watch, a cellular phone and cash to the value of Rp 40,000

JAKARTA (JP): Private company PT City Neon Prima Mandiri
\nitself demolished on Tuesday its exhibition building in the
\neastern parking lot of the Bung Karno sport complex in Central
\nJakarta after being threatened that the structure would be
\nforcibly demolished.<\/p>\n
Witnessed by some officials from the Central Jakarta
\nMayoralty, the company's employees tore down the building.<\/p>\n
Governor Sutiyoso had often said that his administration would
\ndemolish all buildings in the sports complex which were not used
\nfor sporting activities in accordance with a city bylaw.<\/p>\n
The administration had earlier demolished an exhibition
\nbuilding owned by PT Anggara Ind., which was also located in the
\nsports complex, but did nothing to the one owned by City Neon.<\/p>\n
It was not until the administration was criticized by the
\npublic for favoring City Neon that it ordered the demolition of

JAKARTA (JP): City police chief Insp. Gen. Sofjan Yacoeb
\ninstalled Sr. Comr. Beno Gelapang on Tuesday as the Jakarta
\nPolice's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) chief, replacing Sr. Comr.
\nBambang Krishermanto.<\/p>\n
Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Anton Bachrul Alam said the
\nchange was made due to a need to refresh Brimob's structure
\ninternally. At the same time, Krishermanto was promoted as head
\nof the National Police's training and education center with a new
\nrank of brigadier general.<\/p>\n
The new Brimob chief, Beno, was previously commander of
\nregiment II of the National Police's bomb squad (Gegana) based in

\nmarking a public kitchen set up by the Urban Poor Consortium
\n(UPC) in Kampung Rawa area, West Jakarta, on Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n
\"The officers implored the poor people there to allow them do
\ntheir job or otherwise they would be dismissed,\" Berkah Gumulya,
\na member of UPC, told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
However, about three hours later the banner was raised again,
\nhe said.<\/p>\n
The public kitchen, which was established on Monday, is able
\nto cater up to 1,000 meals a day for needy people, especially
\nthose who have lost their jobs due to the massive raids against
