Two motorcycle theft specialists who carried a firearm during their\ncrimes have been arrested by Tangerang City Metro Police in Cipondoh,\nTangerang City, Banten. The two suspects have the initials AS (25) and\nAGS (33). A third individual, identified as a fence with the initial S,\nmanaged to escape and has been placed on the wanted list.<\/p>\n
Acting Tangerang City Police Chief Senior Commissioner Eko Bagus\nRiyadi said the arrests began with a report from a resident who lost a\nHonda Vario motorcycle on Jalan Maulana Hasanudin, Cipondoh, Tangerang\nCity, on 7 July 2026. Following an investigation, officers managed to\nidentify the suspects.<\/p>\n
From the suspects, officers seized a number of items of evidence,\nincluding a homemade firearm and five rounds of FN ammunition, a T-key,\nT-key bits, a magnetic key, an L-key, several mobile phones, motorcycle\nkeys, and a black Honda Vario which turned out to be stolen from the\nCipondoh area. The firearm is believed to have been carried by the\nsuspects during their operations.<\/p>\n
Preliminary examination results indicate that the suspects admitted\nto selling the stolen goods to S. However, when S was about to be\narrested, he managed to flee and is still being pursued by officers.\nAccording to the suspects\u2019 confession, they had carried out four thefts\nin the Cipondoh and Ciledug areas of Tangerang City.<\/p>\n
Officers are still investigating the possibility of other crime\nscenes and a network of fences who received the stolen motorcycles.
