Police have arrested three men suspected of jamming Automated Teller\nMachines (ATMs) in the grounds of Buah Hati Hospital in Pamulang, South\nTangerang (Tangsel), Banten.<\/p>\n
South Tangerang Police Chief AKBP Boy Jumalolo said the three\nsuspects had targeted three ATM machines at an outlet within the\nhospital complex.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere were three perpetrators. They jammed three ATM units. One ATM\nwas damaged, while the other two were jammed,\u201d Boy told reporters on\nThursday (30\/7).<\/p>\n
Boy explained that the method used by the suspects was to wedge parts\nof the ATM machine so that customers\u2019 transactions would be\ndisrupted.<\/p>\n
The method is believed to have been exploited by the suspects to\ncarry out crimes against ATM users.<\/p>\n
When they were about to be arrested, the three suspects allegedly\nattempted to flee. Police then took firm and measured action to stop\ntheir escape.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen they tried to run away, officers took firm and measured\naction,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Police are still investigating each suspect\u2019s role, as well as the\npossibility of their involvement in similar incidents at other\nlocations.<\/p>\n
