Police arrest jeans forgers<\/p>\n
BANDUNG: Police have arrested three people suspected of
\nillegally selling and manufacturing jeans bearing the brand name
\nCarvil and confiscated 1,383 pairs of jeans as evidence, Antara
\nreported yesterday.<\/p>\n
Police chief Lt. Col. Arie Soebowo said on Wednesday that the
\nraid was conducted following reports from PT Carvil Abadi, the
\nsole distributor of the foreign brand here.<\/p>\n
Those arrested were identified only as LS and JK, residents of
\nKiaracondong and Kopo Permai districts who have been selling the
\nfake jeans, and ZB who was suspected of producing the goods.<\/p>\n
A pair of original Carvil jeans is priced at Rp 50,000
\n(approximately US$ 21) while a fake pair sells for Rp 13,000.
