        "content": "<p>Police Resmob Komodo of the Manggarai Barat Resort Police\u2019s Criminal\nInvestigation Unit arrested MH, 35, the suspect in the theft of millions\nof rupiah from a student in Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).\nThe suspect, a resident of Kampung Taga, Golo Dukal, Langke Rembong,\nManggarai, was taken into custody without resistance at the Kampung\nUjung Fish Auction Place (TPI) in Kampung Ujung, Labuan Bajo, Manggarai\nBarat, on Friday afternoon, 22 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>MH is believed to have fled to Labuan Bajo after stealing the\nrice-sale proceeds belonging to the victim a week earlier in Ruteng,\nManggarai.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe alleged perpetrator is a fugitive who has been on the target\nlist for investigation following thefts in the jurisdiction of the\nManggarai Police,\u201d said AKP Lufthi Darmawan Aditya, Head of Criminal\nInvestigation at Manggarai Barat Police, on Saturday, 23 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The theft victim was Aprianus A. Buluk, 17, a student from Manggarai\nTimur Regency. The rice-sale proceeds, still stored in the car, were\nstolen by an individual identified as YN when the car was parked on\nJalan Yos Sudarso, Kelurahan Mbaumuku, Langke Rembong, on Thursday\nafternoon, 14 May 2026.<\/p>\n<p>A few hours before the incident, Aprianus and two accomplices had\njust sold nine sacks of rice, weighing a total of 450 kilograms, in\nMano, Manggarai Timur. The sale proceeds, amounting to Rp 5.85 million,\nwere then stored on the car\u2019s dashboard.<\/p>\n<p>As the vehicle was parked in front of a shop in Kelurahan Mbaumuku\nfor a private matter, the perpetrator exploited the victim\u2019s\ndistraction. Within minutes, the money on the dashboard had vanished,\nsnatched by MH. The victim promptly reported the incident to SPKT\nManggarai Police.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen the victim got out of the car for personal needs, the rice-sale\nproceeds were left on the dashboard, unattended. On his return, the\nmoney was gone. Based on initial on-site analysis, the victim was likely\ntargeted by the alleged perpetrator,\u201d AKP Lufthi explained.<\/p>\n<p>Manggarai Police then coordinated with Manggarai Barat Police. MH was\neventually arrested in Labuan Bajo. Lufthi said MH admitted to all\noffences. However, the stolen money had already been spent to cover his\nliving costs during the flight.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspected offender has now been officially handed over to the\nSatreskrim personnel of Manggarai Police who came to collect him for\nfurther investigation at the original place of incident,\u201d concluded AKP\nLufthi.<\/p>",
