Police arrest alleged provocateurs<\/p>\n
BOGOR: Bogor Police arrested secretary of Cipambuan Sentul
\nvillage Encun Wahyudin and Saefudin on Sunday evening on
\nsuspicion of provoking locals selling durian to attack officers
\nfrom toll road operator PT Jasa Marga Jagorawi earlier on Sunday
\nin the Sentul area. They also apprehended Yaman and Acang in the
\nvillage Monday morning for the same allegation.<\/p>\n
Bogor Police precinct chief Adj. Sr. Comr. HM Taufik told the
\nmedia on Monday that the arrest was made after six vendors, who
\nhad been apprehended earlier, named Encun and Saefudin as the
\nprovocateurs.<\/p>\n
Durian vendors pelted stones at Jasa Marga officials and
\npolice and even chased after them, carrying machetes and sticks,
\nafter officers had warned them not to sell durian along the
\nemergency lane of the toll road. They also damaged vehicles
\nbelonging to the officers, and traffic signs.<\/p>\n
Bogor Police chief of detectives Adj. Comr. Ferdy Sambo said
\nthat they would investigate the incident.<\/p>\n
\"They (vendors) have violated article 170 of the Criminal Code
\non vandalism as they damaged Jasa Marga property, police patrol
\ncars and traffic signs on the road,\" he said. \"If convicted, they
\ncould face 12 years imprisonment.\" -- JP<\/p>",
