Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Metro\nPenjaringan Police Sector arrested a man identified as CFM who was\ncarrying a sharp weapon of the celurit type on Jalan Pluit Raya,\nPenjaringan District, North Jakarta, after taking part in a brawl.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo initially the suspect, after taking part in the brawl, passed by\npolice officers and was eventually arrested for carrying a sharp\nweapon,\u201d said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Sampson\nSosa Hutapea, in Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Officers escorted the suspect and seized the evidence to the Mako\nPolsek Metro Penjaringan for further investigation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect CFM is charged under Article 307 of Law Number 1 of\n2023, with a prison term of seven years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
AKP Sampson explained that the incident began when the suspect,\ntogether with two friends, MR and RBS, rode on a single motorcycle to\nthe location they had agreed to gather.<\/p>\n
The three headed toward the Raja Kuring corner rail. At the location,\nthere were other associates of the suspect, so they gathered and\nprepared three blades of sharp weapons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect CFM was then given a celurit by his friend and carried\nby the suspect,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The group then engaged in a brawl with another group. The commotion\nlasted about two hours, after which the group dispersed because they\nwere overwhelmed.<\/p>\n
While the suspect was walking home carrying a sharp weapon, he was\ncaught by police officers who were patrolling to crack down on begal\n(mugging by groups on motorcycles).<\/p>\n
