The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Penjaringan Metro Police,\nNorth Jakarta, has arrested two suspects involved in a motorcycle theft\nin the Luar Batang area, Penjaringan, a zone known for high rates of\nvehicle theft.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth suspects were arrested just a few hours after the incident\noccurred,\u201d stated the Chief of Penjaringan Metro Police, AKBP Agta\nBhuwana Putra, in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
The suspects have been identified by their initials as S (37), a\nresident of Muara Baru, and M (27), a resident of the Waduk Pluit Flat\ncomplex, Penjaringan. During interrogation, both admitted to stealing a\nmotorcycle belonging to MS (35), a private sector employee residing in\nLuar Batang. The duo reportedly sold the stolen vehicle to an individual\nidentified by the initial A in the Pangkalan KWK Kapuk Gresinda area,\nKapuk.<\/p>\n
Agta confirmed that the suspects are currently being held at the\nPenjaringan Metro Police Station for further investigation. \u201cWe have\nalso secured CCTV footage and are examining the complainant and several\nwitnesses to complete the legal process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The theft occurred on Wednesday (13\/5) at approximately 13:00 WIB on\nJalan Luar Batang, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. The victim discovered the\nmotorcycle was missing upon returning to the vehicle and attempted to\nsearch the surrounding area, but was unsuccessful. The victim\nsubsequently reported the loss of the motorcycle to the Penjaringan\nMetro Police.<\/p>\n
Following the report, officers conducted an investigation and\nreviewed CCTV footage, which identified two perpetrators. The victim was\nable to recognise one of the suspects, enabling a rapid pursuit. Armed\nwith this information, the suspects were apprehended by the victim and\nlocal residents with the assistance of the Penjaringan Metro Police\nCriminal Unit.<\/p>\n
Agta urged the public to remain vigilant when parking vehicles and to\nensure ignition keys are not left in motorcycles. He expressed\nappreciation for the active role played by the community in providing\ninformation and assisting in the apprehension of the suspects. He\nfurther advised residents to use additional security locks and to avoid\nleaving keys in vehicles to prevent crime.<\/p>\n
