        "content": "<p>South Sumatra Police (Polda Sumsel) has carried out home renovations\nand distributed social aid to communities in Musi Rawas Utara (Muratara)\nregency. The initiative forms part of the national police\u2019s efforts to\nsupport government development agendas and bolster social resilience in\nremote areas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are committed to fully supporting government programmes for the\nwelfare of the people. Polda Sumsel, along with all its units, will\ncontinue to implement humanitarian programmes that directly address\nresidents\u2019 needs and strengthen the relationship between the police and\nthe community,\u201d said Polda Sumsel Public Affairs Chief Senior\nCommissioner Nandang Mu\u2019min Wijaya in a written statement on Monday (25\nMay 2026).<\/p>\n<p>The humanitarian activity took place today in Lawang Agung Village,\nRupit District, Muratara Regency. During the event, Muratara Police\nDepartment handed over renovated homes for two residents previously\nliving in uninhabitable conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The beneficiaries were Elya Rosa in Dusun VII and Yastri Turzaini in\nDusun VIII, Lawang Agung Village. In addition to the full home\nrenovations, Polda Sumsel distributed food parcels to assist the\neconomic needs of recipient families.<\/p>\n<p>Nandang stated the programme follows directives from South Sumatra\nPolice Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho, urging all regional police\nunits to actively support government initiatives to alleviate poverty\nand improve public welfare.<\/p>\n<p>The activity was led by the Deputy Police Chief of Musi Rawas Utara,\nrepresenting Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Rendy Surya Aditama. It\nalso involved the military through Rupit\u2019s Koramil unit, Muratara\nRegency government, local community leaders, and religious figures.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that this cross-sector synergy demonstrates strong\ncollaboration between the military, police, local government, and\ncommunities in supporting inclusive and sustainable development. Through\nsuch initiatives, the police are not only law enforcers but also drivers\nof social compassion.<\/p>\n<p>Nandang added that the home renovation and social aid programmes\ndirectly improve beneficiaries\u2019 quality of life.
